FINDING GOOD EMPLOYEES AND BUILDING A POSITIVE CULTURE

ThedaCare was ready to unveil a brand new state-of-the-art facility: ThedaCare Orthopedic, Spine, and Pain Center (OSP Center), in Madison, WI, the region’s only comprehensive hospital and medical center dedicated to orthopedic spine and pain care. It housed diagnostic equipment, surgical arenas, patient hospital rooms, customized physical therapy, and more – all under one roof.

It’s big news to be sure, but it also created big fulfillment obligations.

During a time when employees – especially medically trained specialists – were difficult to find, ThedaCare needed to hire hundreds of people to staff its new OSP Center. We also discovered that in addition to the specialty medical positions, the center also had hiring needs for all positions necessary to operate a large medical facility – from administrative to facility support staff. ThedaCare needed to draw from outside its own employee pool so as not to affect their other regional locations. And finally, we uncovered a secondary need to establish stronger brand positioning for ThedaCare’s current internal ‘Life Inspired’ campaign.

Our solution was to create a comprehensive campaign to draw potential employees to hiring events for the Wisconsin-based facility, while also using existing ThedaCare brand elements to leverage overall messaging. The project also involved branded wayfinding elements to help new candidates locate the hiring event. These pieces were integral to successfully attracting the right candidates and efficiently conveying the ThedaCare culture.

We were able to connect ThedaCare’s primary and secondary needs without compromising deliverables. Today, the OSP Center is operating seamlessly with a full staff and a growing reputation as a center for excellence. The OSP Center continues to bring together experts and attract the top talent necessary to serve the community.
