Sharing Your Story with Infographics

Let’s face it: people’s attention spans have shifted. We are driven by devices and newsfeeds that generate a cycle of constant updates vying for our attention. In order to catch people’s eye, your message needs to stand out and resonate very quickly.

So, with the year-end just around the corner, how can you share the impact your business or organization has made in a way that people will pause and take notice? Last year, we helped Wayne UNC Health Care do just that.

Leadership was proud of the hospital’s accomplishments throughout the year and sought to share some of those highlights with key stakeholders. In pursuit of connecting with the greater Wayne County community, they also wanted this information to be shareable to a more general audience. Together, we landed on a Community Impact Report, which featured infographics that captured some of the year’s successes and statistics in a visual way. Recent studies related to visual learning and content consumption supported our decision to utilize infographics for this piece. Consider the following:

  • An analysis found that articles featuring infographics received 72% more views than text-based articles.
  • High-quality infographics are liked and shared three times more than any other type of content.
  • Infographics can help boost the traffic to a website by up to 12%.
  • Infographics are 30 times more likely to be read from top to bottom than articles.

These infographics go beyond simply showcasing numbers. They demonstrate the impact that Wayne UNC Health Care has as an employer, a healthcare provider and a community leader. The report served as a print piece sent directly to key individuals identified by the client. It was also featured on the Wayne UNC Health website. Furthermore, we broke down these infographics and turned them into individual posts that were shareable on platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn. We even ran selected fact points as ads on LinkedIn, geotargeting professionals in Wayne County.

As you consider your own end-of-year reports, how could infographics help to share your organization’s story? With so much content competing for people’s attention, these visuals can be an important way to help you stand out. If you would like to discuss infographics or another marketing need, we’d love to have a conversation.  Let’s talk
