PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: NICE CHARITIES LOGO

QUESTION

When the National Independent Contractors’ Exchange (NICE) decided to begin a new outreach initiative to support charities, they sought to have a new logo to help boost awareness. They went to The Jakes Group for help.

We consulted with NICE and listened as they shared what they envisioned for their logo. They shared that along with having their main NICE logo included, they wanted a logo that was inclusive of all the causes they would support. They didn’t want it to look like it was leaning toward one specific charity or cause.

CREATE

Traditionally, many charity logos involve hands and hearts. We sought to explore options that had a different look and feel, so the NICE Charities logo would stand out. As we explored different versions of the logo, the NICE group was drawn to a tree concept.

Straight from our designer, Madison:

“As I designed this concept, I was thinking that NICE was the trunk of the tree that had branches out to the different charities/non-profits they support. A tree is also a symbol of life, and I feel like the NICE Charities program is here to support our communities and help create a better way of life for them.”

We finalized on the tree concept and incorporated a cursive font to give it a more organic and lighter feel to it.

ACTIVATE

In one night, NICE and its members raised over $530,000 at the inaugural NICE Charities Gala in January 2020. The money went to Make-A-Wish® Arizona and A Soldier’s Child Foundation. The new NICE Charities logo helped to create a uniformed identity for this new exciting initiative. (If you want to learn more about the NICE Charities Gala, click here.)

It was an honor to have a part in the launch of the NICE Charities. Congratulations to the entire NICE group on the successful inaugural gala. We are excited to see what’s to come as you support communities and causes across the country.
